Suvannamaccha, est une princesse Indienne ou Khmère (ce qui lui vaut des bijoux, couronnes et vêtements dorés). Son nom signifie littéralement poisson doré et il s’agit d’une sirène représentée telle une créature mi-femme mi-poisson en or. Elle est présente dans le mythe d’Hannuman, l’équivalent du mythe du Roi Singe pour la mythologie indienne. Dans cette légende, Hanuman tomba éperdument amoureux d ‘elle. Ils finirent ensemble et devinrent les parents du dieu Macchanu.
Il existe de nombreuses représentations de style khmer dans les couleurs noires et dorées.
Supha Matcha or Suvannamaccha
Suvannamaccha, is an Indian or Khmer princess (earning her jewellery, crowns and golden clothes). Its name literally means golden fish and it is a mermaid represented as a half-woman, half-fish creature in gold. It is present in the myth of Hannuman, the equivalent of the myth of the Monkey King for Indian mythology. In this legend, Hanuman fell madly in love with her. They ended up together and became the parents of the god Macchanu.
There are many representations of Khmer style in black and gold colours.
